AH Moves Forward in WoW
As always in gaming, and especially in MMORPG’s, members will come and go. AH will always have a home for its members that have been burnt out, but as they leave to do other things, other always step up in their place.
Since some of the ranking members have moved on in WoW, the remaining leadership has placed a call out for other members to step up in their place. Many people have stepped up to the plate to take over their ranks and their positions.
Blizzard has stepped up to the plate as well giving us the PvP Honor System. With this system it allows members from either side to earn a rank based on PvP merit. This has moved many AH members to see where they can place on the Alliance side.
Blizzard to make this system even more fun for us has given a RL reward for those members who participate in the new Honor System. You are given tickets in a raffle based on your PvP rank – the higher the rank, the more tickets you get each week.
Not to be outdone, AH has come up with ideas of their own starting many AH events for its members in WoW. One of the new events gives bragging rights and some cash to those members with the highest Honor rank in PvP.
Other AH contests have been made or are coming soon. These include AH PvP duels and group duels, a contest to make the best AH contest, and many more things. Check back often to the AWW news page and the AWW forums to find out more information as it is made available.

New Tactics and New Enemies
There were many Alliance guilds that wanted to defend their own homes and home towns, and there were even some guilds that would enter into an alliance with some of the more powerful guilds to make a regional area to protect. The Alliance was united to protect the people but rarely would they stray to far from their own homes or major Alliance cities. People were afraid to venture to far out because anything short of an army would be slaughtered by the Horde.
That is not to say that there were no guilds that would venture forth into enemy territory. However, most of those brave groups that went out into these areas where never heard from again. Even large armies were known not to come back.
Airhawk Alliance new of the enemy. They had faced them on many fronts and would continue to meet them. Recently the Horde had avoided the towns and cities that would be frequented by the Airhawks. The reason was debated by some, and while most would agree that it was not known for sure, it would make sense that it is because that the Horde did not wanted to enter into combat with the Airhawks again.
Knowing that the Horde was far from defeated and that something still had to be done, the Airhawk’s Leaders wanted to renew their fight against evil. It was decided that it was important to located the outposts of the Horde. This would be the first, and necessary step into the fall of the Horde. The first push toward the fall of the Horde cities, the first time that they would be on the defensive, a surprise attack.
The problem was that while the Alliance has a general idea where the outposts where, they were unsure of the exact location, the terrain, the fortifications, and most importantly, the enemy numbers.
Before committing a large force, as we could not afford to lose a large amount of men and equipment, it was decided that a scouting force should be sent. This had been a volunteer assignment, hence why so few patrol had been sent out. This was before the Airhawks entered into the area. Fear was not a part of the decision.
Naturally a small but effective group was assembled. The leaders picked amongst the Airhawks, as most volunteered, and assembled a diverse group based on experience and abilities. Not to be fearful the leader of the Airhawks would naturally lead them into battle.
They gathered what supplies they needed and headed out to the Badlands, the chosen area to begin the search. The road on the way to the badlands was empty and so they moved fast. Once they entered the Badlands, the tracker could follow the way easily as few people but Horde even entered the area, a place where only those lost would enter. The Horde keeping to usual tactics, always uninventive, and headed to the darkest place in the dessert. The area was cut into cliff and rock, with but one entrance to each side. This made it nearly impossible to scout and attack, and a delight to defend. The purpose of the outpost was clear, but chosen for shelter or comfort mattered little as it was something that stood in the way of freedom and therefore must be destroyed.
The outer area was scouted and only those most skilled with concealment moved forward with the tracker. A few Horde would enter and leave the area, and while the majority of the small group waited nearby out of sight, the few Airhawk that waited on the cliff had to fight hard to stay their hands from attack. Here were the Horde that had killed so many. These Horde were veterans, experienced killers. The leader moved forward, alone, as he was the most cunning with being unseen. As the tracker watched with trained eyes for a count of the troops, the leader moved ever closer to the main gate. Carved above the gate in the heathen words of its inhabitants was the name of the outpost. Kargath the heathens called the place, and it stank of rotten flesh and disease, just the way that the Horde liked it. Disgusted by what he had seen, the leader pulled back to give the information to our swiftest rider, of course a Night Elf.
As the information left, and before we could pull back to more safe area to camp, the leader gave his command. Before the other troops of Airhawk arrived, he wanted to show the Horde that even here they were not safe. They would kill Horde and let them know that yet again they faced the Airhawks.
With eager ears the Airhawks listened and moved accordingly to the area that had been commanded. Upon the cliffs they waited in ambush, outnumbered and to far from anywhere for help. If they failed here their lives were forfeit to the cause of freedom.
A large group of Horde moved out, and so effective was the ambush that the first sign of it was Horde falling from Elf bows. As our warrior charged in, the hidden leader appeared from the shadows and met the leader of this Horde patrol. He yelled something that was lost in the cries of battle and removed his head. It seemed over before it started. Airhawk again outnumber had lost lives of its own but had cost the enemy far more. Quickly the survivors took the bodies of their own and departed before more trouble came their way. So effective was their removal from the field that no tracks were left to aid the Horde of numbers or direction of departure.
The Horde’s only clue when they found the dead and slaughtered bodies of their own men was a small white cloth, hung from the point of a spear, which upon was written in Orcish, “For what you have done, your lives are forfeit here. You can run, but you will only die tired.”

The Fall of Tarren Mill
Something was forming in Darkshire. Rumors had formed that day of increased Horde activity to the North. Horde members where forming in the area and killing Alliance while they were alone and raiding cities that had weak defenses. The people of the area cried out for support – and support was what they were going to get. As guild members filed into the town, the people of Darkshire were aware of the great presence before them. Airhawk Alliance was forming on Darkshire. They were out for blood, the blood of their enemies. The people knew that help was coming for the people of the area.
Airhawk gathered in the Inn as the leaders of the upcoming raid conversed among themselves about the best way to help the people. They decided the best route to their objective – a small outpost north of the refugee point in Arathi Highlands. The people were forced to flee to this camp to avoid death and dismemberment. The guards of the area fought for the good of the people, but they could only hold out much longer. The odds were against the people of the area. Reports had just come in that a large Horde force had formed in the area – the people of the camp would surely parish unless help arrived soon. When this report came in, Airhawk moved forward its plans, assigning leaders to smaller groups and handing out objectives for each group. Experience fighters, all of them, the leaders knew what they were up against, and yet they faltered not. The Horde had promised death to any Alliance members that entered the area to give aid; they did not want outside interference – they did not want to face AH again.
Airhawk Mages formed a great portal to whisk the members of the freedom fighters to the mighty Dwarven city of Ironforge. They Dwarves gave what aid they could to the guild giving them transportation to the refugee camp with their fleet of Griffons. With so many people in the area, surely spies will get wind of the growing force – after all, what AH member could not walk down the step of this city without getting respect from all its members – they would be noticed. Word would surely come to the enemy.
When AH landed in the refugee camp, things looked dim for the camp. However, the members of the town cheered that help had arrived. They knew with the arrival of AH that this would be the one chance they had to survive. Last minute preparations where made - quick meals where made, the sharpening of weapons, restringing of bows, and the blessing of the priests where given to the fighters.
AH moved quickly to the outpost of Hammerfall. This was a mighty outpost of the Horde. Advanced warning was given as scouts fled to bring word. The leadership of AH was not meant to be underestimated however. Cloaked members, known as rogues ambushed the scouts before they could move out. Surely the Horde could do better than this. AH approached the outpost to find it heavily defended. They knew what they were up against, but as the leaders of the guild yelled, “charge” all the members charged the city without falter – trusting the leadership and their fellow members, they gave up their lives and placed them in each others hands. It was this trust that would make the difference, something that the entire Horde lacked.
Against stacked odds, the members of AH took the outpost in a matter of minutes. The Horde had been waiting for them, spies had seen to that. However, the Horde saw what it was up against, Airhawk Alliance. Those Horde members that had fought AH before and fled to tell the tales broke ranks to run. They knew what they had seen, and had told the tale. Some Horde made it out on their mounts, leaving behind those slower guild-mates and outpost defenders. AH moved into the town as if it was their own. They held the town and searched it for any information they could obtain and eradicated all Horde life within the town, and killed any Horde that approached. Afterwards, the outpost was burnt to the ground. This would surely help the people of the refugee camp.
However, for Airhawk, this was not good enough. The Horde city of Tarren Mill was north of here. This city was well defended, much more than this outpost. The Horde felt safe there, as most Alliance members were afraid to even approach the city. Undead guards roamed the city as people walk the streets in Ironforge. The Horde boasted that this city could never fall.
Airhawk was unafraid and as always, committed to the cause of freedom. Airhawk would attack this city, and they would take the city. The leaders of the guild gave their orders to the lower ranks, and while many were afraid, none of them turned from their duty.
They headed back to the refugee camp to give the people the good news and reassurance that they were again safe. They did not stay long however, the Horde members that fled that outpost in shame surely had arrived at the city of Tarren Mill. Before they could move out to counterattack, AH planned to be there. They took Griffons to the city of Southshore – a town that was very close to enemy territory, a place where most of its members fled to the refugee camp. As soon as AH touched down they were off and running to the Horde city.
The Horde was ready this time, and they did not flee, as they believe that their far greater numbers would give them the day. The leaders of AH saw the guards and charged into the city ahead of all their men. They knew that unless they lead through immense courage they would never stand a chance. The guards came out to meet them and no less than fifty undead guards flowed from the cities building. This did not look good for the members of AH. The leaders of this guild gave out a mighty battle cry and tore into the Horde. The Mighty Mages of the guild, some of the most powerful alliance members unleashed hell upon the Horde. The Paladins and Priest let their Holy rage fly forth, and everyone gave whatever they had to give. The Horde leaders began to falter at the sight of Airhawk Alliance. It was truly a sight to behold, and as the guards looked up to see the destruction and their own leaders fall, and the lines began to break.
Airhawk was not going to let anyone get away this time –everyone fell. Several members of AH fell in this battle, and they will be missed, but they gave their lives for their brothers and sisters, and they will never be forgotten.
Weak from the fight, AH tried to catch its breath and heal their wounds. The Priest tried to save who they could, and the leaders formed and set their defense. The Hunters and Rogues of the guild filed to the outskirts of the town and kept a watchful eye.
Suddenly on the perimeter a shout went out. One of the powerful guilds of the Horde was sighted and approaching. They had many high caliber members and they were all well armed. They did not charge the town afraid that AH would use the cover of the buildings. AH charged without fear to the enemy who held the higher ground and was not tired or wounded from battle. The battle was fierce and many members fell on both sides in the bloodbath. The Mages and Priest fatigued from all their castings, the Warriors and Paladins leaned on their shields, and Hunter fought to pull their bowstrings but they kept up the fight. As the battle ended, Airhawk, although battered and beaten, had taken these Horde too. They headed back to the city to finish what they had started. The engineers places explosives in the buildings and Hunters let fly fiery arrows – and so fell the once great Horde city of Tarren Mill.
The Mages used the last of their strength to summon a portal to bring them back to Ironforge. The portal was made and the remaining members of AH quickly hurried through the failing portal carrying the wounded and dead. Every AH member made it out – no member was left behind.
As they appeared in Ironforge a great cry went up. Seeing AH alive, the people of the city knew that this was an Alliance victory. The people, grateful for what they had done, gave aid to the guild. They praised Airhawk Alliance for all that they had done, and all that they had given that day. The leader of Ironforge came down to give personal thanks to each and every member of Airhawk, and declared a sacred burial to all those that had fallen that day.
The burial was solemn, but the people of the city could not help but rejoice afterwards as people broke into song and dance at this great defeat of the Horde. The people felt safe again, but Airhawk knew better. The Horde would reform again, and the people of the city would be in danger again, calling out to Airhawk for help. Airhawk would be there again as it promised to always be there for the fight of Justice and Freedom.
~As seen through the eyes of a proud member of Airhawk Alliance, the greatest guild in the Realm of Frostwolf.~
Holding Hammerfall, 1 hour
Holding Tarren Mill, 45 minutes
Killing all Horde in sight, denying them two towns, and being the most feared guild on Frostwolf, Priceless.
Airhawk Alliance, giving all Horde what they truly deserve.

The New Force Caves Retreat!!
Airhawk Alliance once again put there mark on the WoW world this last we
ekend. AWW met together for their first raid in a few months for a guild raid. The raid got started with a quick slaughter of Silverpine Forest. With 30+ Airhawk members in the raid group, there wasn't much that could stand in the way of this raid! Moving quickly, AH quickly took out all the guards and NPCs in the town and set up a command center for any incoming horde. After controlling the city for 30 mins with no hassle the group gathered together and put together a run on the undead city. The scouts quickly found a secret way into the city through the sewer systems and into the city.
The discent on the city was fast and caught most all the inhabitants in the city off guard. AH slaughtered everything in its path and made its way to the thrown room. Upon coming to the gates of the thrown room, hundreds and hundreds of elite guards poured out from the inner chambers. As hard as our forces tried we could not over com e the spawns and spawns of guards. Hundreds of undead lay on the ground at our feet, but one by one they began to out number us and squash our advances. We quickly gathered back again in the river and replanned our tactics. Knowing there was no way for our forces to over power there forces we moved on... to the NEW Force Caves Retreat!
Meeting in Astranaar, we marched on the mountain town. As we made our march on Splintertree Post the slaughtered horde fell to the right and left of the road. In no time at all we had control of the cities with ranged in the towers to watch over the city and the front gate held by 10+ rogues, all stealthed and ready to attack! With a group set on the gryphon point, there was no way in our out of this outpost. After some time, the horde prepared a counter-raid but yet never made it inside of the gates! Every resistance was squashed as fast as it started! AH held the outpost for over 3 hours, declaring it the New Force Caves Retreat. Once again, AH has shown it is a force to be reckoned with and will be feared! Stay tuned for future raid information, there are more cities to take capture of and claim for AH!
New Years Raid a Success!!
Over
250+ Alliance members gathered together on January 1st to raid the
Crossr oads. The raid in all turned out to be a great success.
After gathering in Booty Bay, the members of the Raid party took the boats
over the sea to Horde territory. With over 100 people on each boat, it
took a little bit to get everyone across the sea and ready for the raid.
Once gathered together the Raid group made its descent on the city. As
soon as we made it near the gates Horde guards immediately came out and
tried to stop the advance. Soon there was over 500 people in the area
fighting. It was not long before the server would crash. But after the
server came back online, AH along with all of the other FoF guilds
progressed into the city. Sitting outside the gates, the Alliance killed
horde after horde. When all the Horde had retreated and ran away the
Alliance declared it a victory!! Once again AH had proven itself to be
powerful in the WoW community!!
